What is the FOX Kids Skills Clinic?
The folks from FOX, Mountain Bike Rotorua and MDA Experiences have teamed up to bring skills clinics that are fun, informative and bring confidence to your kids riding. Our professional team will provide an awesome day out for your kid playing bike games, getting confident on various trails in the forest all the while learning or improving their skills to make riding more enjoyable.
So where is this?
Where else but the world famous Whakarewarewa Forest Mountain Bike Park, otherwise known as the Redwoods or Mecca!
How does it work?

All you have to is choose a date you want your kid to come out (see dates below), choose which level they should be riding (Beginner or Intermediate), send us an email and we'll confirm your booking, that simple. Below is a breakdown of the the two programs:

FOX Kids Ride Session - BEGINNER ages 6-8 and BEGINNER ages 9-12

10:00am - Arrive, Sign Waiver, Meet Instructor, get kitted up, meet other riders
10:15am - Skills and games
10:45am - In to the forest. Riding and continuing with skills and challenges as we go
12:15pm - Lunch
12:45pm - Riding again till 2pm

FOX Kids Ride Session - INTERMEDIATE ages 9-12
​
9:30am - Arrive, Sign Waiver, Meet Instructor, get kitted up, meet other riders
10:00am - Games, Skills, and Drills
10:45am - In to the forest. Riding and continuing with skill progression throughout ride
12:30pm - Lunch
1:00pm - Riding again till 3pm finish

FOX Youth Skills Clinic - ADVANCED ages 11-14 (designed to improve speed, flow and efficiency on grade 3-4 trails)

9:30am-10am - Arrive at Mountain Bike Rotorua and meet your instructors. Sign waiver and registration forms.
​
10am-10:30am - Youth go with instructors and are fitted with FOX Elbow Pads, Knee Pads, Gloves, Helmet, Riding Shirt and their bike for the day. We then move in to introductions including name games for the kids and instructors to get to know each other.

10:30am-11:15am - Bike Games and Skills Clinics identifying and improving kids abilities.
​
11:15am - 12pm - We head in to the forest and ride.
​
12pm - 12:30pm - Lunch at Mountain Bike Rotorua (included). Sandwich, Muffin, Banana and Water.
​
12:30pm - 3pm - Ride more and have an awesome time. Finish at Mountain Bike Rotorua at 3pm.
We have set dates for the FOX Kids Skills Clinics that your child can join in on. Alternatively if you can get 4 or more kids together, we can put a special session on just for you and your group.
How much?
This full day of riding which includes your professional instructor, rental bike, safety gear for the day (FOX elbow pads, FOX knee pads, FOX gloves, FOX helmet and FOX riding top) as well as lunch costs $150 per person. $125 per person if you have your own bike (bikes must meet a high standard of service). Maximum of 6 kids for every instructor.

Anything else?
Just make sure you bring clothing suitable for riding (shorts, t-shirt and jacket if the weather is looking grim), no open toed footwear and it is a good idea to bring a hydration pack as kids bikes don't have drink bottle cages.
