TEAM LEADER/DUTY MANAGER
Mountain Bike Rotorua - Retail - Full Time/Permanent - $24-$25.50+ per hour

We are looking for full time team members to join our bikes crew. MBR Team Leaders are an integral part of our business – providing outstanding customer service, safety briefing, trail information and general support of all guests as well as leading the crew on day to day tasks and operations. This can be a physically demanding job that relies on a passion for an amazing customer experience, being a great team player and a love for all things mountain biking.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily Duties

  • Ensure that MBR Waipa, Tawa, Wheelhouse, Skyline and Redwoods are ready to open on time.

  • Oversee and delegate the daily tasks, as outlined in policy and procedures.

  • Lead the daily staff meeting to set daily objectives and delegate tasks, as well as addressing areas of concern/doing well and informing of any position changes.

  • Perform the daily cash up, accurately and consistently recording the days transactions, and any errors that have arisen. Able to follow the procedures outlined in MBR cash up procedure.

  • Open the point of sale system, and ensure float is in tills and accurate.

  • Ensure BRM is running smoothly, troubleshoot any issues.

  • Assist each area where appropriate to make sure the day runs as smoothly as possible.

Management and Leadership

  • Deploy staff during the day to the various sites and roles as needed.

  • Delegate responsibilities to staff, and ensuring staff are on track.

  • Attend MBR management meetings and proactively contribute to the collective approach for ongoing organisational improvement.

  • Undertake actions outlined in MBR management meetings.

Staff Culture, Planning and Human Resources

  • Lead by demonstrating good practice in each of the operational areas.

  • Feedback to the MBR management team on challenges faced on the front line.

  • Inspire and engage each member of the team around company purpose and culture.

  • Promote and model positive and healthy staff to staff interactions.

  • Have an active involvement in HR processes including but not limited to employment relations, recruitment and investigations (as requested).

  • Carry out performance reviews/reports with staff (under supervision/delegation by Operations Manager).

  • Customer Experience

  • Welcome customers onsite, and encourage other staff to do the same.

  • Maintain a friendly and affable persona when interacting with customers and provide an excellent model for other staff to follow.

Quality Control for Bike Fleet*

  • Appoint MBR Crew members each day to ensure all bikes are checked in thoroughly in accordance with our safety standards, as outlined in policy and procedures.

  • Full responsibility for ensuring that all bikes have been checked in to an excellent and consistent quality each day, including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning

  • Mechanical check

  • Overall fleet safety

Health and Safety

  • Adopt a positive and focussed approach to health and safety in the workplace, to ensure active steps are taken to ensure own wellbeing and wellbeing of others.

  • Follow all MBR health and safety practices, systems and processes.

  • Carry out required reporting for hazards, accidents and incidents.

  • Continually seek to isolate and eliminate hazards.

  • Wear all required PPE.

  • Work with Health and Safety Representatives.

  • Flexible and calm under pressure.

  • Task specific qualifications and/or relevant experience is desirable but not necessary.

 

This role is full time, working a range of shifts within our opening hours, operating across 7 days a week. Candidates must be available weekends. This role may develop into a supervisory role.
