A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN BIKE ROTORUA WHANAU
"The most fun you can have on two wheels with a mouthful of mud. Love this place I wish we had trails this good in Aus."
- Gary Walker, Brisbane, Australia
WHAKAREWAREWA, REDWOOD FOREST
Along with her natural beauty, the true strength of our forest is that it caters to all levels of Mountain Bike interest. It doesn't matter if you've never been mountain biking before or you live, eat, breathe and dream about your next MTB fix, Whakarewarewa Forest has trails for you. With more than 160kms of mountain biking trail loop options for you to choose and explore you can opt to hire our bikes for 2 hours, half day, full day, or go on multi-day adventures.
Rounding out the MTB Rotorua Hub we have the unique WAIPA CAFE that offers some of the best espresso, smoothies and food you can get. Coupled with the REDWOODS CAFE at the Redwoods Visitor Information Centre, we are unmissable features of your trail experience.
Mountain Bike Rotorua is dedicated to providing top service with Bike Hire, always stocking quality rides for a range of abilities and sizes. From trailer bikes to big downhill rigs, everyone should be looked after when they come to enjoy our backyard. Also on site is a retail store with a bike mechanic available in peak times for those last minute touch ups or repairs on the bike, and riding gear is available here for those who can't travel with every single piece of kit they own.
Rotorua is an adventure destination without compare. At the heart of it all is the Whakarewarewa Redwood forest. With over 160km of twisting, turning mountain bike trails it's no wonder that we have quickly become one of the top riding trail networks in the world. Mountain Bike Rotorua started with a vision to provide visitors to Whakarewarewa with a level of friendly, professional service and the type of facilities that such a world class natural attraction deserves but has not until now had.
Owned and operated by local brothers, Tak and Tu Mutu, the Mountain Bike Rotorua whanau (family) is one that was born from an ethos of ensuring that every experience is always about the people first. Our crew of professional and personable guides carry on the traditional beliefs of Maori such as Manaakitanga (caring for those around us), Kaitiakitanga (protecting our planet and people) and Whanaungatanga (creating lasting relationships with those we bring in to our lives)
With two handy rental locations, Mountain Bike Rotorua is your easy choice for bike hire to ride the awesome trails of the Rotorua region.
